A robot vacuum will keep your floors clean enough to reduce the frequency of manual hoovering. Select a vacuum with good navigation, has the ability to clean stairs and corners, and that has a large bin that only needs to be emptied periodically.
There are models that can mop and charge themselves This is an advantage that is essential for families with children or pets. A lot of the top performers in our tests have good obstacle avoidance.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. That makes the i3+ a good option for those who want an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but don't mind manually emptying their robot's dustbin when it is full.
Both robots do well picking up surface debris off carpets and hard floors and they're excellent at getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ doesn't have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots that we test. It can be stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces like rug and hardwood.
iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including putting away any toys or clutter it might encounter. You should also keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid becoming clogged. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or the battery is empty it goes back to its docking station, automatically emptying its trash into the station's dust bin and continues cleaning where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for about an hour and a half continuous use, and it takes around three hours to fully recharge.
2. Roomba from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in the iRobot flagship line, and it comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and -- the most important feature of all -- it comes with self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ can make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can control your robot through the app or by voice.
The i7+ is more efficient and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin which removes major maintenance sources and reduces recurring cost.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and move around the room and sweep an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. After connecting to these services, we were able use the i7+'s voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered with seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system captures allergens, and then lets cleaner air into your home. The specially designed head utilizes stiff nylon bristles to penetrate into carpets, and then pick up large dust or crumbs. It has three suction modes to meet the task at hand. It swiftly switches from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum and back.
This model also has docks that charge to 100% in 3.5 hours and offers an easy access to two attachments as well as an clip for a wand. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's biggest drawback is its limited run time. As CR's tests have shown, its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are misleading. automated vacuum cleaner is a common, not exceptional, battery-powered cordless vacuum's running time. This is still enough to vacuum the majority of an average-sized house however, it's not enough to clean every area (though the second time around usually will suffice). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is significantly better on low-pile floor carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums The 694 is an entry-level model that's a good choice for people who don't wish to spend too much money on a robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of types of debris and sizes during our testing, and it frequently goes over the same areas several times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach corners and the edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models like our top selections, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. As a result, it may get stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't in good condition, and frequently runs out of battery power before making it back to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694, as it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower cost of recurring costs and is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is able to better move itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of reasons, since it has a better battery life, can change the suction power mode by hand and has physical boundary strips, and can be operated by your phone's voice assistant. It's also more robust, has a larger motor, and is more effective on floors with bare or low-pile.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a well-known brand in the field of home electronics. It's not a surprise, then, that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard technology to aid in navigation and obstacles avoidance.
The app offers a variety of options to customize your robotic cleaner, such as virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior customization, docking frequency settings, and more. The app is simple to navigate and use as are other Samsung devices.
In our tests in our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it removed 86% of dog hair (on carpet). However, it did not do particularly well in avoiding higher-up objects like cords or socks which was a disappointment. It's priced higher than other models we've tested, and this could be a deal breaker for some shoppers.
The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that can be accessed through the app. You can also set up a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature lets you check in on pets or kids when you're away from home. The filter and the dust bin are washable for quick, painless cleanup. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean station that's self-emptying, which helps keep the robot's dustbin clear and maximizes suction power for each cleaning run.

The app allows you to manually steer the robot in the event of need. good robot vacuum living room rug, for example has a dark-colored border which could cause a problem for other robots. However, the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border, without registering it as a cliff. The ability to program a cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving benefit.
