Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum can keep the floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency at which you need to manually vacuum. Choose one that has an easy navigation, can sweep corners and stairs, and has a large dust bin that has to be emptied only periodically.
There are models that mop and charge themselves This is an advantage that is essential for families with pets or children. Many of the top performers in our tests also offer decent obstacle-avoiding capabilities.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ a great option for those looking for an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience but don't mind taking the time to empty their robot's trash bin as it gets full.
Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors and they are very good at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots we test, the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities and therefore it could get stuck on things like socks or power cords, and it can have difficulty in navigating through transitions between surfaces, such as from hardwood to rug.
iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or clutter it may encounter. It's also recommended to keep the bin and filter clean so that they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and takes the dirt out of the docking station’s external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning from where it began. The battery's life span is approximately an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes about three hours to charge.
2. iRobot i7+ Roomba
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in iRobot's flagship line and has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. But the most important feature is the self-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for regular maintenance.
The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that lets it map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can control your robot via the app or via voice.
The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces, including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy the dust bin is self-emptying which removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to start or stop cleaning sessions and also to move around the room and vacuum a particular area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to voice commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for most households however, it can also fit nicely on the coffee table or the bookshelf, where you can move it around like a magic wand.
The V10 is powered with a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy, which produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system removes allergens, and then releases cleaner air back into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to suck up large dust and crumbs. It has three suction modes that can be adjusted to suit the task. It can quickly switch between handheld and floor vacuum and vice versa.
The model also comes with docks that charge to 100% in about 3.5 hours and offers an easy access to two attachments as well as an clip for a wand. This is a significant improvement over older Dysons models, that require a long charge and are a pain to store.
The V10's biggest drawback is its limited run time. The claims of its marketing that it can provide up to 60 minutes of run time are misleading, as CR's testing shows. This is a standard, not exceptional, battery-powered vacuum's run time. This is still enough to get rid of the majority of a typical-sized home but not long enough to get every single area (though an additional run-through often does the trick). However, this model isn't a good choice It's lighter and more mobile than the older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming performance is noticeably better on low-pile carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have lots of money to invest in a robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of kinds of debris in our testing, and it frequently goes over the same areas several times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front side helps it to reach into corners and along the walls' edges and walls, which is a nice addition.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capability of more advanced models like our top selections, the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. This means that it may get stuck on things like phone cords and low furniture, and it frequently will run out of battery before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects, as it has fewer components that require regular maintenance and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in maneuvering itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges faster.
The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also has physical boundaries strips that can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistance. It also feels better-built and has a stronger motor, and performs notably better on floors that are bare and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a wider array of features for automation.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's not a surprise, then, that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app provides a range of options for customizing your robotic cleaner. These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior adjustments, docking frequency settings and more. It's simple to comprehend and easy to use, just as is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and cleaned up 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). However, it did not do particularly well with larger objects, like cords and socks, which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than some of the other models we tested which could be a problem for certain shoppers.
The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that you can access via the app. You can also create a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to monitor your pets or children while you're away. The filter and the dustbin can be washed for the quick and easy cleaning. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with a self-emptying clean station, which helps to keep the bin clean and optimizes suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Contrary to other robotic vacuums that are specifically designed for carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard floors. They feature an extra-wide cleaning path and a larger dustbin that holds 2X more debris than other models to keep the area free of debris for the longest period of time. for beginners include two side sweepers that can be used to clean around corners and edges. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also includes AutoSense technology, which senses if it's picking up dirt on surfaces or embedded dirt and automatically adjusts the power level. It also has a smart app that lets you see the virtual map and manage the functions and schedules. Additionally, you can track the vacuum's battery status and return it to its dock to charge at the touch of a button. The app allows you to modify the LEDs on the top of the vacuum so that you can determine where it is focused or if it's stuck.
The app allows you to manually steer the robot, if necessary. My living room rug, for instance has a dark-colored border which could cause a problem for other robots. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, but it didn't register it as a cliff. Also, the ability to set up weekly cleaning schedules is a great time-saving convenience.
